Warm UP Hockey Sessions

"PLAYER FIRST,

Note: All sessions are full.

POWER SKATING SESSION FORMAT include proper drills about balance, starts, forward skating, acceleration & stride, forwards to backwards transition, crossovers, stopping, backwards skating, cornering and tight turns:

  • Power Skating Session for boys & girls: 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997 & 1996; Thursday evening Thursday July 2th; 8:00-9:00PM

Coach Instructor: Nancy Brennan, owner of Brennan's Power Skating School, has been offering skating instruction for youths (8-16 years old) over several years and helped thousands of hockey players to enhance their speed, balance, lateral movements, agility, skating acceleration and stride. Players will enjoy her instruction drills and approach to improve your skating techniques.

WHY: You did not skate for a few days/weeks, want to get ready for the hockey festival, enhance your puck and skating skills, so come and JOIN our dynamic hockey staff! Your will receive quality instruction from a staff that knows and loves the game. All will focus on discipline, effort, and skills enhancement, while maintaining a fun atmosphere.

HOCKEY SESSION FORMAT: stretching and skating exercises without the puck; skating and puck drills, game with no red line and icing, and finally a shootout with FUN:

  • Girls U8("born 2000/2001) Hockey Session: "5-on-5" hockey format; 8:00-9:00PM
  • Girls U10(1998/1999) Hockey Session: 4-on-4" hockey format; 8:00-9:00PM
  • Boys 1996/1997 Hockey Session: "4-on-4" hockey format; 9:00-10:00PM
  • Boys 1998/1999 Hockey Session: "4-on-4" hockey format; 9:00-10:00PM
  • Boys 2000 Hockey Session: "5-on-5" hockey format; 7:00-8:00PM
  • Boys 2001 Hockey Session: "5-on-5" hockey format; 7:00-8:00PM

GOALIE SESSION FORMAT include a variety of innovative drills that will focus on "specific skating techniques", positioning skills, crease awareness, shooter challenge, puck rebounds, goal angles, skating pivots and lunges, post-position, concentration, & puck playing. The basic training structure would involve 9-10 nets set up in different sections of the ice with a rotating system of groups of  2 or 3 that work on specific skills at each station:

  • Goalie Session: Boys 1996-2001 & Girls U8, U10 & U12; 7:00-8:00PM

Coach Instructor: Jeremy Shell, goalie coach for the Royal Military College Paladins Rep team. He teaches a technical system of goaltending that promotes athleticism and positional skill. Players will enjoy his instruction drills and approach to new goaltending techniques.

PLAYER REGISTRATION FEE: $30. Some levels filled quickly, so PLEASE try to book early to avoid disappointment. Follow the procedure below to complete the registration form and to pay your registration fee through PayPal. Submit one form for each session above if you want to participate in more than 1 session as it makes the registration-payment process simpler for all parties. Thank you.
