You are a parent or a tutor responsible for a
young athlete playing hockey. He/she needs your support and
encouragement.
HOCKEY PLAYER FIRST,
WINNING SECOND!
The diagram below present some guidelines
about the behavior that parents, tutor, or even coaches should
have with a young prospect. This list of rules is not complete
but it helps to present a line of conduct that we as coaching
staff enhances while working with young players:

There's more to life than hockey. Kids enjoy
winning and how to handle defeat. Remember that these kids are
PLAYING hockey. It is important to allow them to establish their
own goals and play the game for themselves. Be careful not to
impose your own standards or objectives.
A healthy, risk-free environment that
emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship, fair play, and
discipline and, most importantly, fun will be invaluable for
your child as she or she continues to develop a positive self
image. Strive to be supportive and point out the things they do
well.
Have fun and enjoy supporting your child in
the best you can, but not overdue it! This is our mandate as
officers of this hockey festival. |
