  • Query about the hockey team organization where you son has been invited to play to ascertain proper conduct by coaches and managers during the Kingston International Youth Hockey Festival (KIYHF).

  • Be responsible for your child playing in this tournament and make sure that all hockey equipment is under surveillance at all times as we are not responsible for hockey equipment being stolen!

  • Provide constructive criticism to team coaches and/or the direction of the KIYHF to enhance the outcomes of this event.

  • Encourage and support players, coaches, and tournament officials with a positive and friendly attitude. Abusive language will not be tolerated.

  • Promote good sportsmanship at all time during the tournament. You son/daughter will be thankful.

  •  Respect referees’ calls and provide positive support during games.

  •  Treat everyone fairly within the context of his or her role in the activity, regardless of gender, place of origin, race, and sexual orientation.

  •  Discuss your son/daughter team concerns with team staff in a responsible, respectful and open-minded manner.

  •  Be responsible for your player at all times while attending this Hockey festival.

  •  Be a partner with the Direction of the Kingston International Youth Hockey Festival to build a solid foundation for future character development for your son/daughter through hockey competition.

  • Finally, let’s remember that each game is for our young people, and win or lose; it’s a stride in life for them. More about the Parents' code of conduct.
